Mens Netball NSW announces Moira Gaha as Head Coach
The three year appointment follows an extensive recruitment process and Gaha was considered to be the clear and outstanding candidate to emerge bringing a wealth of experience to the position, combined with a strong track record of success in the Netball community at a high performance level.
Gaha says she welcomes the opportunity to lead the NSW Open Men’s side for the next 3 years as well as contribute to Mens Netball NSW (MNNSW) in supporting and improving the high performance program.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to coach the Men and establish a strong framework to springboard off in the coming years. I know that this role comes with an enormous responsibility to establish a winning team that will proudly represent NSW. We have a great deal to be proud of already, but we want to encourage more men and boys into our game and the Men’s Opens team play an important role in doing that” Gaha said.
President of MNNSW Clare McCabe said “In the end, Moira impressed us last year with her commitment and dedication in what was a tumultuous year but saw her win the State of Origin series in her first real outing as the Open’s coach. We are excited to see what she will do over the next 3 years in helping build a winning and professional culture not just in the Opens team but enabling that culture to permeate through all representative teams. The idea of contracting Gaha for 3 years stems from the Committee’s desire to create stability and strength within our elite program.”
Gaha will take up her role effective immediately.
