Read the Signs – Would you know how to help a mate?

MNNSW is committed to helping bring our members and athletes important initiatives that go beyond the game itself. This is an opportunity to raise awareness and develop skills where we can support each other in times of need and promote mental wellbeing among our members. Below is information relating to a free online workshop conducted by Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney called “Read the Signs,” a workshop that raises awareness on stress, depression, suicide prevention, help seeking and self-care for men.

In Australia, suicide remains a critical issue, particularly among men. It’s time to break the stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health. “Read the Signs” aims to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to recognise when someone might be struggling and how to provide support.

MNNSW wants to foster a supportive environment where mental health is prioritised, and seeking help is encouraged and normalized.
