2022 Age Team Coaches Announced

MNNSW appoint 23s, 20’s and 17’s State Team Coaches.

Mens Netball NSW has appointed Tom Portelli, Sue Grigg and Georgie Arrow to the Head Coach positions of the 23, 20, 17 and Under teams respectively.

President Clare McCabe said she was delighted to announce Tom Portelli as NSW 23 and Under Head Coach.  “Tom is a veteran of Men’s Netball, having played for Victoria, SA and NSW as well as representing at a National level. We look forward to seeing him coaching a Men’s team having spent his last few years at the helm of the NSW Mixed teams.”

Sue Grigg returns to a Head Coach role with Mens Netball NSW after having a break.  Sue has dedicated herself to seeing the aged divisions receive the coaching and support needed to develop their skills in readiness for progression through senior ranks.

McCabe said “It is great to see Sue return to a coaching role within our Association , and we are excited about the potential growth and development of our 20’s team under her leadership.”

The re-appointment of Georgie Arrow as Head Coach of the 17 and Under team  will enable her to finally reach her goal of coaching at an Australian Championships following the last 2 years of disappointment at not being able to complete.

“Georgie’s done an exceptional job over the last two years in preparing both the 23’s and 17’s and we’ve been impressed with her work in each age group she’s coached. She’s a dedicated coach, who cares about the players and their growth and is always very focused on creating a positive environment for them to achieve their best.”

“All three age groups represent a critical stage of development for our young athletes and we’re pleased to have these coaches leading the way,” said McCabe. ” These coaches will work closely with our Senior State Coaches in developing and teaching young players what is expected at the high performance level. What we want to achieve is a seamless transition into the senior ranks. The performance and culture that they learn at the age level, is what will shape them for the future.”
