2022 Men’s Open A Coach Announced

Mens Netball NSW (MNNSW) is proud to announce the 2022 Men’s Open A Coach.

Nerida Stewart will be taking on the challenge as Head Coach  of the NSW Men’s Open A Team following her breakthrough year as Head Coach of the 23 and Under Team. This appointment further cements the high performance succession plan into the Mens’ Open environment where Nerida can continue to support the establishment of performance and culture to best prepare the athlete for the opportunities that lay ahead.

Nerida along with Moira Gaha, who was already appointed as MNNSW Head Coach will work closely together in collaboration with the MNNSW Committee to continue to build the infrastructure necessary to deliver results and be a force to be reckoned with now and into the future.

MNNSW President Clare McCabe said it was pleasing to have an amazing pool of elite coaches put their hands up for State Team positions, especially throughout the difficulties of 2021.

“Even in the midst of a challenging year with lockdowns and restrictions, we continue to be impressed by the calibre of coaches who want to be part of our State Team Program and appreciate those who applied for positions,” McCabe said. “Selecting coaches from an elite group shows the great position MNNSW is currently in and we’re excited to have the best coaches to support NSW state teams next year.

“We would also like to send a special thanks to those players, coaches and officials who were part of our 2021 state teams who were unable to attend the Australian Championships due to lockdowns and COVID-19 restrictions.

“We would have loved to see all our teams take part in the Australian Championships – their incredible attitude and ability to handle the disappointment of 2021 shows resilience and professionalism, both of which are key attributes required to participate at the elite level.”

More announcements to follow with the Coaches of the Open Mixed, Mixed Reserves and Aged teams in days to come.

The 2022 AMMNA Australian Championships will be held in Adelaide from 17th – 23rd April 2022.
