Mens Netball NSW has begun planning the 2019 MLeague Season and there are some exciting changes on the way!!
START DATE:
The MLeague 2019 season will start on Sunday 4 August and run for a 10 week period plus finals. It will run over consecutive Sundays with the exception of the Oct long weekend.
Game times this year will be a little earlier, starting at 4.30pm and finishing at 8.30pm at the latest.
POINTS SYSTEM:
We are proposing changes to the player points system for each division.
MENS DIVISION 1:
In order for NSW to elevate our mens competition into the high performance space, the Mens Division 1 will have the points limit for each team removed. This means you will be able to play who you want, when you want for your games and allow you to put your strongest side out on court. You will have the freedom to select any player you like to be part of your team without having to worry about if you are going to exceed the points limit system.
MENS DIVISION 2:
The points system will remain in place for Mens Division 2 with a maximum total points permitted on court at any one time will be 15.
An additional rule will permit teams to have one (1) 5 point player registered per team. Fill in rules will still apply, allowing players with 3 points or less to fill in for a team.
MIXED:
The committee will look at how we run the mixed division once we know the number of teams interested in playing in the competition.
PLAYING VENUE:
We will be locking in the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls, located across from Qudos Bank Arena.
PRE-SEASON COMPETITION:
We are looking for teams to come along and help put Mens netball on display and conduct a pre-season training day. We are able to utilise court space to promote Mens netball at the Netball NSW Senior State Titles which are being held at Camden and District Netball Association on Saturday 8th June 2019 from 10am – 3pm.
