Inclusive Community Grant Obtained

We are pleased to advise that Mens Netball NSW (MNNSW) has been successful in obtaining a grant through Netball NSW.

The Netball NSW Inclusive Community Grants are administered by Netball NSW for projects that seek to improve
the health and engagement of our diverse communities through netball.

In applying for the grant, MNNSW requested the grant be used for expanding our inclusive program to deliver Men’s and Mixed Netball opportunities to a diverse community by removing barriers for people in geographically isolated communities and by improving the reach of our existing program.

The grant money will be used in September 2019 to conduct coaching clinics in regional areas with the support of the existing and established netball Associations already in those areas.

MMNSW have reached out to regional associations and players to promote Netball as an inclusive sport. The 2022 Vision is for Men’s netball to have a partnership framework in place with each member association of Netball New South Wales. This will include a program for male and non-gender identifying players to continue to participate beyond 12 year of age.

On September 14 and 15 this year, we will be conducting clinics in Tamworth, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga and Shoalhaven.  The clinics will be working with juniors in one session (boys aged 12 – 15) with a second clinic straight after for those 16 years and older.  The clinics will work on skill development across the court as well as including match play.

From the Committee of MNNSW we are extremely grateful to Netball NSW for awarding us this grant and recognising the opportunity to work in regional NSW to attract more boys and men to playing netball.
