Match Report – Mens Opens
The NSW Mens Open team fired up last night after a narrow loss to Victoria in their first game. They demonstrated exceptional one on one defense that at one point had Victoria sending the ball back to their GK. It was this relentless pressure that forced turnovers and created opportunities that gave the Blues a 6 goal lead at the first break.
Lee was injected at GA, and he immediately found connection with strong drives through the middle of court. His acceleration and connection with Horne at WA helped extend the lead to 12 by half time.
In the second half NSW continued its brand of unrelenting defensive pressure and disciplined netball which had them prevailing 62-47 at the end of the final quarter.
In hist first year in the Men’s Opens, the rookie of the team Liam Forcadilla was awarded the commentators MVP, but credited all the players and bench for their belief, trust and spirit.
Match Report – U/20’s
Today the 20’s had their last round game against Victoria. The team came out fired up to finish the round games on a high and take that momentum into the finals.
The first half the boys stuck with the game plan and set up a healthy lead to set up the overall win. In the third the team lost their way a little but steadied and regained focus which enabled them to come out with an excellent victory.
